As we head into the 3-day weekend, it will be interesting to see how many visitors we have in Big Bear, with the ongoing fires in the LA area and lower than average snowfall so far this year.  It has been cold enough to make snow, but natural snowfall always helps increase visitor numbers.  The effect of the fires will also be interesting to see in the mountain areas.  We have already had a lot of remote workers moving to Big Bear over the last couple of years and there are reports of housing costs in the LA area already going up drastically.  I suspect that will continue in LA and the surrounding areas; but we’ll have to see how many more remote workers get driven up to Big Bear because of lower housing costs.  As of today, there are 331 active single-family listings in the Big Bear MLS and 48 more in escrow.  Below are the sales for December, which were surprisingly high, given the two major holidays and less business days in the month.
