Below are the monthly statistics for September 2015.  As you can see, sales continued to be very strong in September.  For more information, please see link to the year-over-year and month-over-month statistics from Trulia/Zillow in the link below the chart.

Below is a link to Trulia’s market trends for the Big Bear Lake (92315) zip code for the quarter from July to October of this year.  This is the zip that encompasses the entire City of Big Bear Lake, all of Fox Farm, and about half of Moonridge (the part closest to Bear Mountain and the golf course/zoo).  In the MLS, this would cover all of BLC, BLE, BLW, FOX, and about half of MOON.  As we’ve discussed before, this is the area that encompasses the entire south shore of the Lake, the Village, both sledding areas, both ski resorts, and most of the shopping areas; so we usually refer to it as the “resort area” and it is where vacation rentals tend to do best and where most people look for vacation rental investments.  According to Trulia/Zillow, the year-over-year median sales price is up 31.3%!  As we’ve mentioned in the past, we’re not big fans of the median sales price statistic because it tends to fluctuate a lot more than the average $/sqft, which shows a much smoother curve over time.  The average $/sqft for the same time period is up 10.9%, which is still a very solid (and I think, more realistic) gain!!

Finally, don’t forget that this weekend is the last day of Oktoberfest on Saturday and “Halloween in the Village” on the same night.  With Saturday being Halloween, these should both be some very fun events with lots and lots of costumes!
