December 2014 Big Bear Real Estate Stats
Below are the Big Bear real estate stats for the month of December. As of today, there are 425 listings available in the Big Bear MLS. As usually happens this time of year, buyers tend to focus more on the areas closer to the slopes. This year, the Mammoth buy-out seems to have intensified that effect. Prices are expected to continue to rise, especially as the expected improvements from Mammoth begin to roll out. So far, the rumored improvements include connecting the resorts between the existing slopes and adding a second “Village area” along Moonridge Road. While these changes would undoubtedly bring further advances in the Moonridge area, now is a great time to look at properties closer to the Lake, which should benefit from these improvements as well and get less attention at this time of year.

For those of you looking for a little more creative financing on your purchase, we just started working with HomeStreet Bank. They’ve been in WA and HI for several years; but they are just getting started in the CA market, so they’re offering great rates and some very attractive loan options, such as a no-cost HELOC to cover your down-payment and the return of the 80-10-10 loan to avoid PMI w/out having to put 20% down. If you’d like more information, just let us know and we can put you in touch with our local loan officer.
