December 2013 Big Bear Real Estate stats
Hi folks!
Below are last month’s statistics for single family residence sales. There was a very small number of properties that sold in Fawnskin and the lakefront that sold was for land value, so it skewed numbers in that area; but the average $/sqft was still up again in the majority of areas that we track. In addition, inventory has dropped even further, with only 360 single family residences still available in the Big Bear MLS. Of those, only 5 are foreclosures. In fact, nationwide the number of homes in foreclosure has hit a 7-year low:
Area | Total Sales | Avg. Sale | Avg. $/sqft | SP/LP | DOM |
BBC | 21 | $223,730 | $154.75 | 96% | 134 |
BBL | 12 | $362,254 | $220.54 | 96% | 155 |
BBL-lakefront | 3 | $983,500 | $441.25 | 98% | 19 |
FAWN | 2 | $141,000 | $198.21 | 77% | 498 |
FAWN-lakefront | 1 | $687,000 | $329.18 | 80% | 0 |

Below is this weekend’s edition of “What’s Up at 7000ft”. Highlights include night skiing and boarding at Snow Summit, the USASA Rail Jam at Bear Mountain, and an Open House at the new Action Tours location.
Have a great, long weekend!!
