As a supplement to the S&P/Case-Shiller Price Index for July which was released last week and showed median housing prices have risen in the 20 major metropolitan areas covered by the index for the third straight month, the link below contains August housing sales and price information for CA.   Although still lower than last year, median home prices in CA rose for the 6th straight month in August!   In addition, the unsold inventory index has fallen approx. 40% to only 4.3 months:
