Baldwin Lake is the dry lake bed on the northeast end of the valley.  The zip code in this area is also 92314 (same as Big Bear City and Erwin Lake); but it is the most high-desert-like area in the valley.  There are small lots, but also larger ranch-type properties.  Except for North Shore and Baldwin Lake Rd., most of the roads are unpaved and public utilities are more scarce than they are in the more-populated areas to the west.  Most of the properties have access to electricity provided by Bear Valley Electric; but water and gas are usually unavailable, so there are a lot of water tanks, propane tanks, and some wells in this area.
