Dec. 2011 Big Bear Real Estate Stats

Below are the monthly stats for December.  As you can see, the number of properties selling continues to be strong.  In fact, as of today, there are only 576 single family residences listed as “active” in the Big Bear MLS.  That is down SIGNIFICANTLY from the high point and means that we have finally cleared out almost all of the excess inventory.  At the current rate of sales we are down to only a 6-month supply!  This means that there are still some good deals out there, but when they come on the market, they go very quickly; so you really need to know the areas that you are interested in and be ready to move fast when something you see hits the market in order to grab a good deal before it’s gone.
